William Hamilton Swayne, Jr., "Dollar Bill", age 91, of Delaware, formerly of Shady Valley, TN, passed away on February 16, 2012. He was born November 18, 1920 to the late William H. Swayne, Sr. and Mabel Swayne in Mendenhall, PA. William owned and operated Swayne & Tinsley Paving Company. He was a Mason for 56 years and was a cancer survivor for 30 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Miller Swayne, his daughter Kathy Weaver, his son William Swayne, III, sisters, Sarah and Mary Gregg and a brother, Lawrence Swayne. He is survived by two sons, Brian Swayne and fiancée Beverly of Shady Valley, TN and Keith Swayne and fiancée Sandra of Newark, DE; four grandchildren, Peggy Andrews, Beth Swayne, Clara Jo Swayne and Brian Swayne, Jr.; three great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Linda Brown Davidson. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Eddie Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Shady Valley Memorial Gardens (Gentry Cemetery). Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
