Yvonne Phillips

Yvonne Phillips, age 84, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024 at Johnson City Medical Center. Yvonne was born on February 24, 1940 in Johnson County, TN to the late Isaac Cable and Hessie White Cable. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Edward Smith, Fred Roger Stanberry and Glenn Phillips; one son, Roger Stanberry (2-19-17); sisters, Edith Brown, Kate Kyte and Anna Ruth Atwood; brother, Olis “Joe” Cable.

Yvonne worked at Shadowline in Boone for 32 years. She was known for her compassion of helping others, especially those who were sick. Yvonne had a love of travel and loved to socialize. She enjoyed dressing up and being the life of the party. She also liked to play cards, especially Rook. Yvonne was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. She loved her family with her whole heart and will be dearly missed.

Those left to cherish her memories include her daughters, Debra “Debbie” Blevins and husband Mike of Butler, TN and Theresa Cole and husband Randy of Elizabethton, TN; grandchildren; Michele Walsh (Michael), Matthew Blevins (Ashley) and Joseph Cole (Alyson); great-grandchildren; Avery Blevins, Aidan Blevins, Aaron Cole, Anson Cole, and Faith Henson (Trevor); special friends, Ramona Potter and Danny Burton; special nieces, Trish Tester and Elizabeth Wallace; special nephew, Freddie Atwood; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 3, 2024. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Nathan Jones officiating. The graveside service and burial will follow from Sugar Grove Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Blevins, Randy Cole, Joey Cole, Matt Blevins, Michael Walsh, and Aaron Cole.
