Yvonne Cox

Yvonne Marlene “Sue” Cox, age 80 of Mountain City, TN, passed away September 18, 2023. Yvonne was born January 22, 1943 in Zanesville, OH to the late Rev. Stanley Robbins and Francis Robbins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Douglas T. Cox; beloved son, Wesley O. Cox; one sister and three brothers.

Yvonne was a wonderful housewife and mother whose passion was raising her children to know the Lord. She loved attending church and enjoyed music. She also played the piano for many years. She was a great cook and always provided home cooked meals for her family. She also had a major sweet tooth and everyone knew she loved chocolate and ice cream.

Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Christina Murray (Brad); sons, Douglas J. Cox (Pam), Timothy A. Cox (Gwen), Kenneth W. Cox (Rhonda), Phillip L. Cox (Miranda); daughter in law, Renea Cox; brother, Douglas Robbins; 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-12:00p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2023 at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home, 117 W. Main St., Amelia, OH. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. The interment will follow at Graceland Memorial Gardens.
