Winnie Pugh

Winnie Alene Davis Phipps Pugh, age 74 of Crumpler, NC, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024 in Winston Salem, NC. She was born March 28, 1950 in Jefferson, NC to the late John Davis and Winnie Barker Davis. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Watson and Chessie Osborne; brothers, Cordell Davis, Keith Davis, and Jerry Davis.

Winnie was a joy to be around. She was always telling a joke and never met a stranger. She was a very hard worker. Winnie loved her family and friends very much.

Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Penny Shatley (Robbie); son, Lonnie Phipps (Cindy); sister, Marie Shear (Les); brother, Norman Davis; grandchildren, John Shatley, Brittany Phipps, Douglas Shatley, Matthew Phipps, Hattie Hartzog(Matt); great grandchildren, Aiden Anderson, Madeline Shelton, Chloe Hartzog, Larken Hartzog, Olivia Dishman; numerous nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024 at Roark Cemetery (Ben Bolen Rd, Creston, NC) with Ken Holmes officiating.  

Friends may call at the home of her son Lonnie, 684 Ben Bolen Road, Creston, NC 28615.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain City Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses.
