Wayne McKinney

Wayne McKinney, age 74, passed away on March 28, 2022 at Johnson City Medical Center. Wayne was born on April 10, 1947 in Rhodell, West Virginia to the late Calvin and Hattie McKinney. Wayne loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a wonderful grandpa and adored his grandkids and great grandkids. Wayne was joyfully baptized on March 19, 2022. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 51 and a half years, Gail (Granny) McKinney; daughter, Crystal Morefield and husband Ricky; son, Cody McKinney and Brook; grandchildren, Chris Morefield, Mikaela Morefield; great grandchildren, Penelope (Opie) McKinney, Cohen (Colon) Wright; special friends, sister-in-law, Ruth Lawson, Earl Price, Jim South; several brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow at Phillippi Cemetery with Minister Bud Gentry officiating. Pallbearers will be Al Lawson, Ricky Morefield, Earl Price, Jim South, Don Cardwell, and Joe Clawson. Honorary pallbearers are Cody McKinney, Chris Morefield, and Bradley Wright.
