W. Dean Harper

W. Dean Harper, age 69, passed away April 30, 2024. He was born March 29, 1955 in Mountain City, TN to the late Nelson and Winnie Harper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Reba Michelle Harper and several sisters and brothers.

Dean enjoyed driving the school bus for many years. He loved his family and grandkids but loved God most of all. 

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 50 years, Linda Johnson Harper; son, Shannon Harper and fiancé Ashley Jackson; daughter-in-law, Ronda Harper; sisters, Gladys Harper,  Judy Harper, Iva Lee Wright; grandchildren, Andrew Harper (Whitney), Kaiden Harper, Zander Harper, Landyn Jackson, Eastyn Jackson, twins on the way; one great grandchild on the way; special nephew, Robert Harper (Carla); several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Steven Spencer officiating. The graveside service and burial will follow the funeral at the Lipford Cemetery on Fall Branch Rd. Pallbearers will be Shannon Harper, Andrew Harper, Kaiden Harper, Zander Harper, Jamie Hughes, Landyn Jackson, Gregory Jones, and Ethan Hightower. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Harper, Eastyn Jackson, Paisley, Emerson, and Olivia Jones.
