Sarah Turner

Sarah Jane Turner, age 80, passed away October 2, 2023 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Sarah was born July 6, 1943 in Ashe County, NC to the late Ethel Emeline Stike. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her sister, Effie May Stike and brother, Elmer Stike.

Sarah loved all her pets but her chickens were her pride and joy. She also enjoyed her flowers and was known for her delicious cornbread.

Those left to cherish her memories include her daughters, Joyce Turner, Marie Turner, Cathy Denney, Susan Hicks and husband David; sons, Tommy Turner, Jesse Turner; grandchildren, Jessica Harmon and husband Matthew, Jeremy Denney, Savannah Hicks; great grandchildren, Hadley Harmon and Trenton Harmon.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Rich Hill Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with Tommy Dollar officiating. The graveside service and burial will follow the funeral at Brown Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Denney, James Stike, David Stike, Wendell Hicks, Richard Hicks, and Matt Harmon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to help cover expenses.
