Raymond W. Arney, age 39, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at the Johnson County Community Hospital. He was born on January 30, 1979 to Marvin and Kathy Courtner Arney. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Mary Wanauth Arney and Shelton and Eulafay Courtner. Raymond loved being outdoors. He especially enjoyed going hunting and fishing. He had a special four legged friend, ‘Rosco’ who he loved very much. Raymond was so proud of his children and loved them very much. Member of Baker’s Gap Baptist Church. Those left to cherish his memories include his parents, Marvin and Kathy, grandpa, Maurice Arney, children, Summer Nicole Arney and Hunter William Arney and their mother, Nichole Miller, sister, Jennifer Furches and husband Jared, nephew and niece, Clayton Furches and Nola Furches, several aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Bakers Gap Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Peterson officiating. Special music will be provided by Lena Arney. Pallbearers will be Jared Furches, Chad Arney, Lee Kelly, Tyson Kelly, Matt Sluder, Dean Arney, Dillion Kelly and Joel Dugger. Family, pallbearers and friends are asked to assemble at 1:15 p.m. at Mountain City Funeral Home to go to the cemetery in procession by 1:30.
