Patsy Laws

Patsy Laws, age 66 of Mountain City, TN, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born April 3, 1958 to the late Virgil and Pauline Owens. In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Blaine Laws and brother, Bobby Owens.

Patsy began her work career at a young age in retail sales. Patsy and her husband, Tim Laws, worked together as an over the road truck driver for Billy Joe Burrow Trucking, Inc. Patsy completed her work career as the Warrants Clerk for Johnson County Sheriff’s Department. She retired in 2023. 

Patsy was a loving Christian, wife, mother, nana and friend. She spent her entire life living for the family. She will be greatly missed and we will be forever grateful for her endless love for her family.

Those left to cherish her family include her loving husband, Tim Laws; son, Michael McQueen; daughter, Amy Lewis and husband Matthew Lewis; grandchildren, Asa Lewis and fiancé Kailey Wilson, Isaac Lewis, Kassandra Billington; great grandchildren, Layla and Rae Lynn.

The graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Cress Cemetery with Preacher Bud Gentry and Preacher Joshua Giddings officiating. Pallbearers will be Asa Lewis, Isaac Lewis, Matthew Lewis, Gary Payne, Ray Vines, and Joe Woodard. Honorary pallbearers are employees of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department.
