Oscar Lewis

Oscar Lewis, age 84, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Mountain City Care Center. He was born in Ashe County, North Carolina on July 5, 1934 to the late Clyde Lewis and Clara Davenport Lewis.  In addition to his parents, Oscar was preceded in death by a sister, MagDalene Roark and brothers, R.L. Lewis and David Lewis.

Oscar was a proud farmer for many years. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed working on his farm.

Those left to cherish his memories include his sisters, Shirley Winebarger and husband Marion and Norma Jones and husband JD, brother, Willis Lewis, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Rector Henson officiating.  Graveside service and interment will follow the funeral at Sunset Memorial Park.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses. Family respectfully requests for no food/meals.
