Odas Moses

Odas Moses, age 85, passed away October 30, 2024 at Johnson City Medical Center. Odas was born February 12, 1939 in Williamsburg, KY to the late John and Ola Moses. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Vince Moses, Gene Moses, and Stephen Moses; sister, Vada Moses and brothers, Otha Moses, and Vernon Moses.

Odas was a passionate supporter of Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. He loved watching sports and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. His love of coin collecting had no bounds. Nothing made him happier than to sort through coins looking for that rare find. He worked at General Motors in Parma, Ohio for 30 years, retiring to Tennessee. He always enjoyed being outdoors. Relaxing on his front porch, admiring the beautiful view of mountains with his wife, Helen was his favorite thing to do. Odas was a loving husband, father, uncle, and Papaw who cherished every moment with his family.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 67 years, Helen Moses; children, Wesley (Debbie), Sherrie (Jim), Kevin (Bonnie), Debbie (Anthony), Richard and Jennifer; Samantha, Jessica, Madi and Emmy who he raised as his own; brother, Kelsie Moses; many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. The graveside service and burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his children and grandchildren.
