Michael "Mike" Stansberry

Michael “Mike” Stansberry, age 63, of Elizabethton, TN passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born in Avery County, NC on December 20, 1959 to the late Viola Anderson. In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by an infant child, special nephews, Reggie Anderson and Justin Vanover; and a close friend Junior Treadway.

Mike loved his grandbabies; they were his whole world. You couldn’t have asked for a better husband, father or grandfather. He enjoyed being a mechanic when he was able.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Deborah Stansberry; daughter, Heather Stansberry; son, Michael Stansberry II and second son, Roy Jenkins; grandchildren, Michael Stansberry III (Bo), Micah Berry, Troy Berry, Junior Jenkins, Raven Jenkins, and Gabe Jenkins; great grandchild, Opal Grant and one on the way;  special friends, Tim Treadway, Eddie Peters, Ken Pierce and Dean Pierce.

A graveside service for Mike will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Park with Lonnie Turner officiating. Pallbearers will be Micah Berry, Michael Stansberry III (Bo), Troy Berry, Logan Wilson, Tim Treadway, and Eddie Peters. Honorary pallbearers are Ken Pierce, Dean Pierce, and Michael Stansberry II.
