Linda Johnson

October 20, 1948 — February 15, 2025

Linda Johnson

Linda Sue Johnson, age 76 of Mountain City, TN, passed away peacefully at her home on February 15, 2025 and entered her Heavenly home in the arms of Jesus. Linda was born October 20, 1948 in Johnson County, TN to the late Arles “Earl” Ward and Felcia M. Shores Ward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald “Scott” Johnson and her sister, Phyllis Hammons.

Linda was a prayer warrior and loved her Lord. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She loved her family with all she had; they were the apple of her eye, especially her grandsons, Laighthyn and Taryn. Linda was well known for her cooking, baking, and most of all, her flowers. Being in the kitchen or her flowers was her “happy place”. Linda always had a smile on her face and for everyone. She would light up a room with her smile and personality. Linda loved her Sunday school class and spending time at the Johnson County Senior Center where she had many beloved friends. Linda worked at The Shoe Plant, Levi’s, and with the school system with the Early Childhood Development Center with Brenda Eggers. This was her “dream job” as she loved kids of all ages. When Linda retired, she and Scott would love going to Florida during the winter and being “snow birds”!

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Lisa J. Crowder and husband Jeff; grandsons, Laighthyn Crowder and Taryn Crowder; brothers-in-law, Frank Johnson (Betty), Glenn “Cotton” Johnson, and Richard Hammons; special niece, Brenda Roark; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends, Alice Gentry Hyte, Barbara Arnold, Joyce Crowder, like another daughter Brenda Eggers, Sunday school class, and many more.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 -7:00 p.m on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Jamie Bodiford and Pastor Sam Icenhour officiating. Music will be provided by her daughter, Lisa J. Crowder. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Hensley, Frankie Arnold, David Arnold, Johnson County Senior Center members, and Sunday School Class and Care Team C.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605, or to Gideons International, P.O. Box 155, Mountain City, TN 37683.

At other times friends may call at the home, 4172 Hwy 67 W, Mountain City, TN, 37683.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Raina Sluder and hospice nurse Candace Anderson.
