Kristy Corona

Kristy Lea Corona, age 42, passed away February 14, 2024 at Watauga Medical Center. Kristy was born June 6, 1981 to Ross Anderson and Dorothy Lewis (husband, Clyde). 

Kristy was a unique individual who was quirky, funny, and had an infectious laugh. She kept a positive attitude throughout her life. She was a dedicated and hard worker. Kristy was an amazing mother and her son was her whole world. She had a way of bringing people together; she created lifelong bonds and made her friends feel like family. She had no fear of a road trip and would go anywhere in a heartbeat. Kristy was a member of the Boone Moose Lodge #1805. 

In addition to her parents, those left to cherish her memories include her son, Nevon James Corona; brother, Chad Anderson; aunt and uncle, Monica and Jack Naylor of PA; special friends, Rachael Lagowski, Jennifer Lammey, Lisa Kampf, Maria Arango, Kristen Stinnette Sharp, Jason Stansberry, Jess White, and Ann Bond; and a large extended family. 

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastors Anthony Roark and James Henson officiating. The graveside service and burial will follow from the Mountain View Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nevon Corona, Chad Anderson, Michael Townsend, Michael Miller, Ian Arensman, Jack Adams, and William Grene.
