Joyce Wilson

Joyce Gail Wilson, age 73, passed away July 29, 2024 at her home. Joyce was born October 17, 1950 to the late Floyd Potter and Wanda Wengel. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband JC “Bo” Wilson, daughter, Donna Hopson and son, Brad Dunn.

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She graduated from Johnson County High School and furthered her education by attending nursing school. She spent many years as a nurse, caring and loving for patients. Joyce also had a big heart for animals. Her hobbies included making crafts, such as candles and flower arrangements and presided as a vendor at both craft fairs and flea markets.

In addition to her mother, Wanda Wengel, those left to cherish her memories include her son, Brian Hopson; sister, Janice Forrester (Gary); grandchildren, Jordan Hopson, Cameron Hopson, Carrie Berry, Destiny Dunn, Tru Dunn, Bree Dunn; 5 great grandchildren; nephew, Travis Forrester and niece, Lori Castislia.

The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 on Monday, August 5, 2024 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. The graveside service will follow from the JC Wilson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cameron Hopson, Travis Forrester, Taylor Berry, Jerry Horne, Gary Horne, Matt Bunting, Dustin Bunting, Jaycee Bunting, and Hersel Stevens.
