Joana Morrison

Joana Barr Morrison, age 58, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born August 15, 1966 to the late Paul Barr and Geraldean Simcox Barr.

Joana was a wonderful wife and mother; her family was her world. She was big-hearted, kind, and never had a bad word to say about anyone. Joana was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 42 years, Roger Morrison; son, Hunter Morrison (Emily); uncle and aunt, Tony and Barbara Simcox; special cousins, Aaron Simcox and Kelly Helm; special friend, Kathy Williams.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Will Kerley officiating. The graveside service and burial will immediately follow the funeral from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger Morrison, Hunter Morrison, Tony Simcox, Bob Otey, and Daniel Helm.
