Jim Brown

James Lee “Jim” Brown, age 61, passed away August 5, 2024 at Watauga Medical Center. Jim was born September 23, 1962 in Watauga County, NC to the late Jack Lee Brown and Kathleen Reece Brown.

Jim was one of a kind. He had a special way of making everyone laugh and had a great sense of humor. He was also one of the most kind-hearted and selfless men you would ever meet. He enjoyed being outdoors and liked fishing and riding four-wheelers. Jim also liked riding motorcycles in his younger days. He was a member of Union Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish his memories include his son, Chandler Brown; sisters, Joan Price (Doug), and Sherry Brown; special friend, Glenda Wallace; stepdaughter, Emily Gentry (Steven); grandson, Conley Gentry; niece, Kayla Byrd (Nick); nephew, Scottie Price (Kayla); special aunt, Barbara Martin.

The family will receive friends from 4:00p.m.-5:00p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Reece Cemetery (Zionville, N.C.). The graveside service will follow at 5:00 p.m. at Reece Cemetery (Zionville, N.C.) with Pastors David Ward and Dana Milsaps to officiate. Pallbearers are Chandler Brown, Steven Gentry, Conley Gentry, Scottie Price, Junior Herman, and Doug Price.
