Jerry "Mouse" Payne

Jerry Wayne “Mouse” Payne, age 65, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Johnson City Medical Center. Jerry was born on September 25, 1954 to the late Calvin Payne and Cora Hammons Payne in Banner Elk, NC. Jerry loved to work on old cars and was a member of Hammons Chapel Church. Those left to cherish his memories include his daughter, April Shelton and husband James; sisters, JoAnn Atwood and husband Blake, Betty Vaught and husband Ray; brothers, Bill Payne and wife Frances, Tom Payne; grandson, Kevin Shelton; several nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Payne Cemetery with Pastor Josh Giddings officiating.
