Gary F. Greene

Gary F. Greene, age 76, of Elizabethton TN and formerly of Mountain City, TN, passed away on Sunday morning March 3, 2024 at the Life Care Center of Elizabethton, TN. Gary was born August 22, 1947 in Watauga County, NC, to the late Roby B. Greene and Edith K. Hollar Greene. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Renee Carol Greene; one brother, Kelly Greene; nephew, Roger Greene and niece, Lisa Greene.

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of almost 58 years, Phyllis Absher Greene; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Heather Greene; two precious grandsons whom he loved very much, Asher and Easton Greene all of Elizabethton, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Benny and Madge Greene of Lenoir, NC; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Lupe Banales of Morganton, NC; sister-in- law, Sharon Greene of Lexington, NC; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon at Mountain City Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow from Reece Memorial Cemetery with Frank Woods and Danny Osborne officiating. Music will be provided by Jeff McKinney. Pallbearers will be Dean Rhymer, Pete Winters, Burl Jones, Bob Taylor, Steve Brown and Berrey Dunn. Honorary pallbearers are Dean Dykes, R.E. Brown, Larry Grindstaff, Johnny Hensley, Brad Eastridge, and Kevin Hodges.
