Frances Louise Harper, age 87, passed away March 13, 2024 at her home. Frances was born September 9, 1936 in Watauga County, NC to the late Bert and Elizabeth Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Harper; sons, Franklin Harper, Ronald Harper, Hillery Harper Jr.; sisters, Pearl Guy, Hazel Fallwell; brothers, Ivy Wilson, Glen Wilson, Lee Wilson, Tommy Wilson, David Wilson and grandchildren, Chance Hopkins and Frances Bunn.
Frances was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. Aside from spending time with family, she enjoyed reading and working puzzles.
Those left to cherish her memories include her daughters, Brenda Collins, Anita Hopkins; sons, Robert Harper and wife Carla, Richard Harper and wife Rosemary, Steve Harper and wife Billie Jean; sister, Della Ward; brother, J.C. Wilson; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; special friend, Helen Hagler; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:30 p.m. The graveside service and burial will immediately follow the funeral at Price Cemetery in Shady Valley. Pallbearers will be Mark Hopkins, Robert Harper Jr., Kaylon Sutherland, Kirby Proffitt, Tex Ramsey, and Todd Tester.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 323 Chestnut Drive, Mountain City, TN 37683.
