Denise Louise Tolley

Denise Louise Tolley, age 64, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at her home, surrounded by family.  She was born on January 4, 1954 to Bonnie Faye Moore Gates and the late James Carlos Helton. 

Denise was a loving and kind hearted lady.  She had a heart of gold and was always doing for others.  She had a special love for animals and cared for many animals through the years, nurturing them back to health. 

Denise was a retired correctional officer at NECC.

Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 27 years, George Tolley, mother and step-father, Bonnie Gates and husband James; daughter, Angelia Marie Richards; sons, Stephen Jarnagin and wife Karen and James Ferguson and wife Julie; sisters, Jaymie Duncan and Diana Gorman; grandchildren, Jason Robinson, Jake Richards, Gracie Ferguson, Emma Ferguson, Dillon Ferguson, Josh Shepherd, Savanna Jarnagin and Tucker Jarnagin; great grandchildren, Sophia Robinson and Jace Jarnagin Mullins; special uncle, Mack Stepp.

Gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the Mountain City Funeral Home.

Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 31, 2018 at the Mountain Home National Cemetery, Johnson City, TN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain City Funeral Home.
