Cameron Mahala

Cameron “Cam” Edward Mahala, 58 of Hudson, NC, passed away April 4, 2024. He was born November 26, 1965 in Avery County, NC to Ellen Mahala Bright. Cameron is preceded in death by his granny, Lonie Mahala; aunt, Cassie Greer and her husband Daniel Greer and uncle, Raymond Mahala.

Cameron was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed working in timber. He had such a compassionate heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a wonderful grandfather “Daddy Cam” and enjoyed spending time with his grandson, who he called his Jay-Bird.

Those left to cherish his memories include his daughters, Camera “Cammi” Mahala Chandler and husband Christopher, Crystal Mahala Hammill and husband Mark of Denver, NC; mother, Ellen Mahala Bright and step father, Paul Bright; sister, DeLisa Mahala; step-sisters, Renee Bright, Lisa Barnett and husband Kenny, Marsha Bright; step brother, Paul Bright Jr. and wife Linka; grandson, Jayden Land; aunt, Sarah "Pete" Mahala; special cousin, Dan Greer; nephew, Christopher Bowers and wife Brianna; great nephew, Bryson Bowers; great niece, Brystol and numerous cousins.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at 2 p.m.
