Betty Kate Neatherly

Betty Kate Walsh Neatherly, age 91, of Mountain City, TN, passed away on Friday morning, December, 6, 2024 at the Watauga Medical Center in Boone, NC. Betty Kate was born on March 1, 1933 to the late Dana Walsh and Rosa Stout Walsh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Oliver Neatherly in 2004, by her daughter, Pamela Halbrook in 2013, and brother, Jimmy Walsh.

She was a member of Vaughts Gap Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Jennifer Neatherly; three grandchildren, Susan Reece of Jacksonville, FL, Jeff Halbrook and wife Becky of Kingsport, TN, Joey Stout and wife Jennifer of Mountain City, TN; four great grandchildren, Sadie, Maggie and Caroline Stout and Landon Halbrook, and Betty Kate’s friends and neighbors.

The body will lie in state from 10:00-1:30 on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Mountain City Funeral Home; then leaving the funeral home in procession for the graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery. Pastor Chuck Morefield will officiate. Pallbearers will be Anthony Shaw, Joey Stout, Jeff Halbrook, Landon Halbrook, Cole Spencer, and Jonathan Shull. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Tester, Randall Fletcher, Wayne Parker, and Howard Stout.
