Doris Ann Manuel

Doris Ann Manuel, age 69, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed awya on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Doris was born on July 5, 1940 to the late Jess Pruitt and Madeline Stewart Pruitt. She retired from Burlington Industries and loved gardening, flowers, cooking and caring for her family. She was a member of Shady Valley Church of Christ. She will be truly missed. Survivros include her husband of 54 years, Bill Manuel; daughter, Brenda Snyder and husband Tony of Mountain City, TN; sisters: Coleen Jones of Abingdon, VA, Teresa Pennington of Chilhowie, VA, Anita Odom of Damascus, VA and Lynn Pruitt of Morristown, TN; brothers: Ted Pruitt of Kingsport, TN, Junior Pruitt of Florida and David Pruitt of Morristown, TN; two grandhcildren: Jerome and Jason Snyder of Mountain City, TN; five great grandchildren: Josh Snyder, Ethan Snyder, Kaylee Snyder, London Snyder and Sydney Snyder; several brothers and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the Shady Valley Church of Christ with the service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Jim Sherman and Wesley Simons, ministers, to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will follow in the Blevins Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Josh Snyder, Nick Fletcher, Jerome Snyder, Jason Snyder, Elwood Cretsinger and Houze Cretsinger. Honorary Pallbearers are: Men of Shday Valley Church of Christ. Friends may call at Mountain City Funeral Home to sign the register book and pay their respects to Mrs. Manuel.
