Coy Edward Roark Coy Edward Roark, age 76, of Creston, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at his residence. He was born on January 26, 1934 in Creston, North Carolina to the late Noel and Bessie Osborne Roark. In addition to his parents, Coy was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Hannah; son-in-law, Rick Tugman and two grandchildren: Grace Tugman and Brian Coy Roark. Coy was a former employee of Woodlawn Gravel of Wilmington, Delaware and Miller Industries of Boone, North Carolina. Coy was a member of Laurel Springs Community Church. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ellen Reynolds Roark; daughters and sons-in-law: Lisa and Danny Adams of Lenoir, North Carolina; Cindy Patterson of Wilkesboro, North Carolina, Joyce Tugman of Mountain City, Tennessee and Kathy and David Miller, also of Mountain City, Tennessee; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Regina Roark of Mountain City, Tennessee; sisters: Pauline Pennington and Lois Presnell; brothers: William Roark, James J.R.' Roark, Rev. Spencer Roark, Gene Roark and Thomas Roark; grandchildren: Sarah Patterson, Jason Miller and wife Heather, Laura Williams and husband B.J., Rodney Tugman and wife Tarah, Timothy Tugman, Daniel Adams, Anna Adams, Nate Adams, Rachel Adams, Eric Roark, Amy Bunting, Sam Reece and Zachary Reece; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Danny Adams, Coy's son-in-law, Rev. Spencer Roark, Coy's brother and Rev. Lindsay McGrady to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted on Friday, July 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the Phillippi Cemetery. Active Pallbearers grandsons: Jason Miller, B.J. Williams, Daniel Adams, Rodney Tugman, Timothy Tugman and sons-in-law, Danny Adams and David Miller. Family, Pallbearers and friends are asked to assemble by 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
