Ronald Gary 'Bird' Sluder

Ronald Gary Bird' Sluder Ronald Gary Bird' Sluder, age 47, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on January 25, 1963 to Nellie McElyea Sluder of Mountain City, Tennessee and the late Rom Sluder. In addition to his father, Bird was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Ted Sluder; one sister, Joan Evelyn Sluder and one nephew, Tommy Ray Sluder. He attended Liberty Christian Church. Bird loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson Charlie-Bug. In addition to his mother, Nellie McElyea Sluder, Bird is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kimberly Hensley Sluder; one daughter, Amanda Kay Sluder; one son, Ronald Chad Little Bird' Sluder, two sisters: Kathy Courtner and Karen Johnson; two brothers: Jerry Sluder and Kenneth Sluder; one grandson, Charles Edward Charlie-Bug' Sluder, all of Mountain City, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews and many, many friends. The family will receive friends 1-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 8, 2010 from the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Ministers Chris Morefield and Shannon Courtner to officiate. Music will be provided by The New Laurel Creek Boys. Graveside Service and Interment will follow from the Phillippi Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Donald Stanley, Matthew Dean, Chad Parlier, Charlie Parlier, Daniel Swift and DJ Hensley. Honorary Pallbearers are nephews.
