Rick Jarvis

Rick Jarvis Rick Jarvis, age 53, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 19, 2010. He was born on November 6, 1956 to the late Leonard and Mary Lou (Woody) Jarvis. In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Dan Thomas. He was former owner and operator of Bantam Chef and current employee of ASU where he had worked for the last 9 years. Rick enjoyed drawing, golfing, but especially his family and working around the house. Rick is survived by his wife, Tammy Thomas Jarvis; two sons: Josh Jarvis and Jesse Jarvis; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Jeff Bennett of Greensboro, North Carolina; mother-in-law, Mary Taylor of Mountain City, Tennessee; nephew, Shawn Bennett and his family of West Jefferson, North Carolina. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Doug Stidham to officiate. Music will be provided by Ashley Wright. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 from the Phillippi Cemetery. Active Pallbearers are: Josh Jarvis, David Hodge, Shawn Bennett, Chris Parker, David Grubb and Michael Gentry. Honorary Pallbearers are: Jeff Bennett, Donnie Garland and co-workers and friends of ASU. At other times the family will receive friends at the home, 194 Lunceford Lane, Mountain City, TN 37683.
