Nova Lee Cardwell, age 91, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday morning, October 3, 2010 at her residence. She was born on May 20, 1919 to the late Stacy and Maggie McQueen Grindstaff. In addition to her parents, Nova Lee was preceded in death by her husband Ray Cardwell and two sisters: Berlin Wilson and Francis Green. She was active in church, taught Sunday School and loved to sew, knit, crochet and work in her garden. Nova Lee was the oldest member of Midway Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Wallace Bum' Stout of Butler, TN; grandchildren: Evone Pass and husband Tom and Robin Stanley, all of Butler, TN; brother, Larry Grindstaff; sister, Scarlett Grindstaff; great grandchildren: Jason Pass and wife Codi, Matthew Pass, Nick Reece, Brittley Stanley; several nieces and cousins. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Midway Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Thompson and Rev. Carl Wilson to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Phil and Wendy Arnold. Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from the Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers will be great grandchildren: Jason Pass and wife Codi, Matthew Pass, Nick Reece and Brittley Stanley.
