Bertha Ballard Capps, 78, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, November 6, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Spurgeon and Arrie Ballard of Zirconia. Bertha was a lifelong native of Henderson County. She worked side-by-side with the love of her life, Gladson. They farmed and raised their children to work hard and to love the Lord. Proverbs 31 describes our dear Mother perfectly. Her children rise up and call her blessed. Bertha had a number of health problems for many years but never waivered in her faith in God. She was a kind, loving person, who demonstrated God's love to all who knew hera good and faithful servant. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Gladson Capps; four children, Bennett Capps and wife, Shelia of Zirconia, Bobby Capps and wife, Donna of Columbus, Lynn Capps Osteen and husband, Curtis of Zirconia, Millie Capps Campbell and husband, Ricky of Mtn. City, TN; four sisters and one brother, all of Zirconia; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Cedar Springs Baptist Church in Zirconia. The Reverends Bobby Capps, Ricky Campbell, and James Shields will officiate.
