Ms. Eleanor Reece

Ms. Willie Eleanor Reece Ms. Willie Eleanor Reece, age 87, of Eccles West Virginia and formerly of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Beckley Appalachian Regional Healthcare Hospital. She was born on November 7, 1923 to the late Robert William Barker and Velma Imogene Huggins Barker. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Edward Tolliver Reece; a sister, Rebecca Rankins and a brother, Robert Herman Barker. Eleanor had retired from the Raleigh General Hospital where she was a lab tech. Following retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, crocheting, quilting and sewing. Eleanor is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Bobby Edward and Theresa Reece of Chapel Hill, NC and Everett Asa and Carol Reece of Fayetteville, WV; sisters: Betty Mains and Evelyn Pennington, both of Mountain City, TN; six grandchildren: Brandon Drew Reece, Deborah Andre, Jill Heine, Beth Reece Crank (Paul), William Benjamin Reece (Elizabeth) and Robert Edward Reece, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ricky Campbell to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will follow the funeral at Phillippi Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family and friends.
