Marguritte J Lowe

Marguritte J. Lowe, age 91, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Franklin Woods Community Hospital. She was born on February 10, 1919 in Bell Air, Maryland to the late James Willis and Vada Ann Robinson Jordan. In addition to her parents, Marguritte was preceded in death by her husband, Farley A. Lowe, who passed away in 1992; sister, Helen Collins; brothers: Ray Denver Jordan, Willis Jordan Jr., James Earl Jordan, Samuel SD' Jordan and Russell Jordan and grandson, Billy Russell III. Marguritte enjoyed being outdoors, working in her garden and flowers and quilting. She enjoyed life and was always up for an adventure. She was the oldest member of Doe Valley United Methodist Church, having been a member for over 80 years. Marguritte is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Phyllis and Bill Russell of Jonesville, VA; Linda and Bob Tyree and Kathy and Don Rankins, of Mountain City, TN; sisters: Goldie Walsh of Kingsport, TN and Imogene Millsaps and husband Raymond of Elizabethton, TN; grandchildren: Michael Russell, Wesley Tyree and wife Marcy, Kevin Tyree and wife Jocelyn and Steven Rankins and wife Jane; great grandchildren: Connor Tyree, Grady Tyree, Alex Tyree and Evan Tyree and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Kenneth Wayne Jordan and Rev. Kristie Banes to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends of the family. Memorials may be made to the Johnson County Rescue Squad, 203 Vandilla Street, Mountain City, TN 37683 or Doe Valley United Methodist Church, c/o Dorothy Shoemake, 597 Rabbit Hollow Road, Mountain City, TN 37683. The family wishes to thank Dr. James Shine and Staff, Nurse Steve, Amedisys Staff, Staff of Franklin Woods Community Hospital and Mountain City Care Center, Johnson County Rescue Squad and Dr. Charles Famoyin.
