Billy Joe B.J.' Weaver Billy Joe B.J.' Weaver, age 71, of Shady Valley, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at his residence. He was born on March 24, 1939 in Whitetop, Virginia to the late Joey and Mamie Wilcox Weaver. In addition to his parents, B.J. was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jenkins Thomas Weaver, who passed away on October 29, 2009 and two brothers: Ralph Weaver and Rex Weaver. B.J. lived in Shady Valley, Tennessee for the past 23 years. He had worked for the VA Department of Corrections for several years, Johnson County Sheriff Department for eight years, and was a constable for six years. B.J. loved football and baseball. He also enjoyed cooking and was a former owner of the Cranberry Café. B.J. is survived by five children: Debra Bacco and husband Mario of Williamstown, N.J.; Benny Weaver of Meadowview, VA, Michael Weaver and wife Tina of Abingdon, VA, Carroll Weaver and wife Shirley of Marion, VA and Billy Joe Weaver Jr. of Mountain City, TN; four step-children: Billy Jenkins Jr. of Shady Valley, TN, Angela Diane Fritz of Abingdon, VA, Jeff Jenkins and wife Jennifer of Abingdon, VA and Brian Jenkins of Shady Valley, TN; two sisters: Rena Hash of Madison, VA and Helen Tillman of Havre-de-Grace, MD; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Whitetop Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Eddie Porter to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Whitetop Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be sons: Benny Weaver, Michael Weaver, Carroll Weaver, Billy Joe Weaver Jr.; step son, Jeff Jenkins and friend, Tracy Proffitt along with other family members and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Clyde Bailey for taking care of B.J. and being such a good friend and neighbor and to caregiver Linda Weaver, who sacrificed the last two months to take care of B.J.
