Ruby Moretz Fritts Ruby Moretz Fritts, age 90, of Mountain City, TN, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at the Watauga Medical Center of Boone, North Carolina. She was born on February 23, 1921 to the late V.L. and Julia Hopkins Moretz. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Joseph M. Jake' Fritts, who passed away on October 12, 2010; sisters: Eleanor Moretz Lookabill and Pearl Moretz Smith and brother, Grady Moretz Sr. Ruby loved to work in her garden with her late husband Jake. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. Ruby was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Boone, North Carolina. Ruby is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Norman E. Garland of Boone, North Carolina; one granddaughter, Sonya Anne Winkler and husband Jeff of Boone, NC; one grandson, Douglass Blake Garland and wife Leah of Pleasant Garden, NC; five great grandchildren: Hannah and Holden Hartzog, Jackson and Lauren Garland and Jacob Winkler and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ricky Campbell, and Pastor Wynn Greer to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will follow from the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Harold Garland, Bill Hughes, Ray Payne, Jack Swift, Jack Cress and James Lefler. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the Mount Lebanon Baptist Church Youth Ministry, 1128 Bairds Creek Road, Vilas, NC 28692.
