John Eastridge, age 72, of Laurel Bloomery, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at his residence. John was born June 5, 1938, being one of triplets, in Johnson County to the late Thomas F. and Deldia Dora Rupard Eastridge. As far as the family knows, John, Ted and Bessie are the only triplets born in Johnson County. John liked the outdoors and was known to wear a coon skin hat. He took care of the Gentry Creek Fish Ponds. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Freddy Keith Eastridge, September 1, 1967; sisters, Martha Mae Riddle and Beatrice Jones; and triplet brother, Ted James Eastridge. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Diane (Bunny) Forrester Eastridge; sons, Michael John Eastridge and wife Linda and Danny Keith Eastridge and wife Elizabeth, both of Laurel Bloomery; triplet sister, Bessie Lee Jenkins and husband Ralph of Mountain City; granddaughter, Kristy Eastridge; grandsons, Danny and Alex Eastridge; sister-in-law, Lois Eastridge and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Tom Prater officiating. Music will be provided by Tom Adams. Pallbearers will be nephews, Teddy Eastridge, Tommy Eastridge, Jerry Stanley, Steve Stanley, Tony Stanley and David Hawkins. Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Don Tarr. The committal service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday March 29th from the State Line Cemetery.
