Iva Lee Hoosier

Mrs. Iva Lee Hoosier, age 76, of West Jefferson, NC and formerly of Roaring Fork Road, Creston, NC, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2011 at the Village of Ashe Assisted Living. She was born on July 21, 1934 to the late Charles Wood and Callie Mayberry Wood. In addition to her parents, Iva Lee was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Hoosier and one son, Jerry Hoosier. She enjoyed embroidering, crafts and working crossword puzzles. Iva Lee's family was her pride and joy and she loved to take care of them. She is survived by daughter, Ann Trivette and husband Roy of Creston, NC; three sons: Jim Hoosier and wife Susan of Warrensville, NC; Bob Hoosier of Creston, NC and Mark Hoosier and wife Traci of Creston, NC; two sisters: Darlene Wood of Creston, NC and Dola Sapp of Fries, VA; six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. J.B. Hamm and Mr. Mark Wagg to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the Calhoun Cemetery, Creston, NC. Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
