Mary Frances Smith, age 94, of Mountain City, Tennessee and formerly of Butler, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. She was born on May 18, 1916 in Valley Crucis, North Carolina to the late Don and Addie Baird Mast. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence E. Roberts; her second husband, Charles E. Smith; one daughter, Ann Roberts Peters; siblings: Baby Girl Mast, Margaret Shoun Bishop, Irene Matheson Tolley, Loudean Allen, Howard Mast, Billy Mast and Donald L. Mast. She was a member of Little Milligan Baptist Church. Frances is survived by her grandchildren: Carletha Parks and husband Steve, Bruce Peters and wife Nanette, Frank Peters and wife Norma and Danny Peters; ten great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ralph Allen, two special nieces, Camilla Osborne and Brenda Stout; several more nieces and nephews and special friends: Crete Forrester and Pearl Winters and many more. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Nick Bradshaw and Rev. David Hankel to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will follow from the Mast Cemetery in Doe Valley (below Doe School Elementary). Pallbearers will be Doug Osborne, Brad Wilson, Douglas Osborne, Alan Kyte, Don Matheson and Josh Allen. Honorary Pallbearers are Ralph Matheson, Glen Shupe and Kurt Wilson. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Camilla Osborne, 174 Eller Road, Mountain City, TN 37683.
