Avis Ray Jack' Dugger, age 84, of Butler, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at his residence. A native of Johnson County, Tennessee, Jack was born on June 26, 1926 to the late Frank and Lina Isaacs Dugger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Maude Skelton; brothers: Fred Dugger and Earl Dugger; daughter-in-law, Martha Dugger and longtime friend, Mr. Carrol Bowman. Jack was self employed and had worked in Ohio for 18 years as a painter and was also a carpenter for many years. He enjoyed fishing, farming and working in his garden, which he took great pride in. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and great granddaughter, whom he enjoyed playing with and spending time with. Jack loved his family and friends deeply. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Jack is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lillian Dugger; son, Douglas Dugger and friend Jackie Rock, both of Mountain City, TN; grandchildren: Daniel Dugger and wife Morgan and Lori Dugger and friend Ricky Walch, all of Mountain City, TN; great granddaughter, Emma Dugger; brother, David Dugger and wife Charlotte of Butler, TN; five nieces, one nephew; several cousins: special friend and doctor for 36 years, Dr. Stanley Vermillian and longtime friends: CC Phillips, Dr. Robert Hines, Dr. Clarence Spannuth, Carter Isaacs and many more. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2011 at Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Lee Reece and Rev. Ricky Campbell to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Joe Crisp. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at Dry Hill Community Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Matt Adams, David Adams, Raymond Cress, Lester Reece, Lee Reece, Jason Arnold and Roger Marshall. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the family.
