Donald Jones

Donnie Jones, age 39, of Creston, NC, and formerly of Mountain City, TN, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 10, 2011. He was born on February 26, 1972 in Carter County, Tennessee to Donald Lee Jones and Lena Helen (Gambill) Dugger. Donnie loved the outdoors and especially loved to golf and fish. He was a loving father and more than anything, he loved spending time with his daughter, Haley, who was his pride and joy. He attended Rainbow Mennonite Church. Donnie is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Traci Jones; a daughter, Haley Jones; mother and step-father, Lena Helen and Tony Dugger; father, Donald Lee Jones, all of Mountain City, TN; sister, Melissa Vance and friend Mike Wilson of Mountain City, TN; brothers: Christopher Jones and wife Angie of Mountain City, TN and Mikey Jones and wife Angie of Piedmont, SC; his beloved dog and friend, Princess; eight nieces and nephews; several cousins and many, many special friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2011 from the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastors Gary Gambill, Billy Poe Jones and Ted Lewis to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Hammons Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Mikey Jones, Paul Price, Kenny Price, Gary McElyea, Ron Greer and Chris Carpenter. Honorary Pallbearers are all of Donnie's friends. Family, Friends and Pallbearers are asked to assemble by 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home, 341 South Flatwoods Road, Creston, NC 28615 or at the home of his mother 454 Old Cold Springs Rd., Mountain City, TN 37683.
