Edgar 'Eddie' Roberts

Edgar Eddie' Roberts, age 67, of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, July 01, 2011 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on May 28, 1944 in Sullivan County, Tennessee to the late Clyde and Maude Clark Roberts. In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Dean Eskridge. He was of the Pentecostal faith. Eddie is survived by his wife of 46 years, Thelma Roberts; daughters: Brenda Carol Stout and husband Troy and Debra Icenhour of Mountain City, Tennessee; son, Ronald Widener and wife Dixie of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee; brother, Fred Roberts and wife Flo of Abingdon, Virginia; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and his musical friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastors Mike Bowers, R.D. Watson and Garnet Rodgers to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Park of Damascus, Virginia. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are staff of Amedisys Home Health.
