Edward Stanley Potter Edward Stanley Potter, age 65, of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee and formerly of Florida, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Life Care Center of Banner Elk, North Carolina. He was born in Ashe County, North Carolina on May 18, 1946 to the late Stanley and Grace Cox Potter. In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Turner. Edward is survived by his children: Elizabeth Grace Potter of New Hampshire and Scott Edward Potter; sisters: Shirley Reece of Laurel Bloomery, TN; JoAnne Potter of Mountain City, TN, Josie Branwella of Asheville, NC and Deana Gasperson of Asheville, NC; brothers: Ray Potter of Mountain City, TN and Roger Potter of Lake Lure, NC; two grandchildren: Ashley and Brittany and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Mountain City Funeral Home on August 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Michael Icenhour officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. prior to the service. Music will be provided by Ms. Austin Mink.
