Anne Elizabeth Wood

Anne Elizabeth Wood, age 79, of Mountain City, Tennessee and formerly of Nottingham, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday August 26, 2011 at the Mountain City Care Center. Anne was born on August 17, 1932 in Meadowview, Virginia to the late Ballard Lewis Kirk and Cora Frances Forrester Kirk. She loved gospel music and loved even more singing for the Lord. Anne also enjoyed playing cards with her family and spending quality time with them. She was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Rising Sun, MD. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Denise McMillan; son, Bobby Wayne Lee; sister, Clara Mae Bolden; husbands, James Finley Lee, Jr., Charles Dean Milam and Fred Wood and son-in-law, John Hampton. Anne is survived by two daughters: Shirley Ann Pope of Winston Salem, NC and Deborah Frances Hampton of Mountain City, TN; two sons and daughters-in-law: Roger Dale Lee and wife Sherry of Clemons, NC and Charles Dean "Chucky" Milam, II and wife Effie of Lexington, NC; sister, Bonnie Lee Greer of Thomasville, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law: Roe Frederick Kirk and wife Freda of Oxford, PA, Ronald "Pete" Lee and wife Linda and James Harry Lee and wife Pamela, all of Crumpler, NC; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August, 30, 2011 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Gary Norris, Mr. Daniel Jones and Pastor Joseph Griffis officiating. On Thursday, September 1, 2011 the family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Rising Sun, MD with the service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Raymond Farris to officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will also receive friends at the home of her daughter Deborah Hampton, 5980 Hwy 91 N., Mountain City, TN 37683.
