Raymond McGuire

Raymond McGuire, age 69, of Mountain City, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Timbered Ridge, North Carolina on November 27, 1941 to the late Grady and Selma Dugger McGuire. In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Catherine McGuire and a brother, Bill McGuire. Raymond enjoyed watching and playing golf and woodworking. He was a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church was a United States Navy Veteran. Raymond is survived by his wife, Linda Bunton McGuire; daughter, Angie Greer of Murfreesboro, TN; sons: Danny McGuire of Mountain City, TN and Chris McGuire of Bangor, WA; sisters: Novella Tester and husband Jerry of Mountain City, TN and Betsy Gauen of Joliet, Ill; brothers: Tommy McGuire and wife Carra Lea of North Charleston, SC and Lowell McGuire and wife Gail of Newberry, FL; grandchildren: Donald Josh' Dickens of Murfreesboro, NC and Laurana McGuire of Cookeville, TN; brother-in-law, Phil Bunton of Mountain City, TN; sisters-in-law: Janie Nelson and husband Tommy of Mountain City, TN and Janice McGuire of Butler, TN; several nieces and nephews and many, many special friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Mountain City Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Ray Greene and Rev. Tim Tapp to officiate. Graveside Service and Inurnment with Military Honors will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2011 at Sugar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery and will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Raina Sluder and staff and Medical Center Hospice Staff for all of their kindness and care.
