Aunt Mae Gentry Sammons, age 102, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, December 06, 2011 at the Mountain City Care Center. A native of Johnson County, Tennessee, Aunt Mae was born on November 16, 1909 to the late Frank and Mary M. (Parker) Riddle. Aunt Mae was a member of Liberty Christian Church and Liberty Ladies Aide. In addition to her parents, Aunt Mae was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Stacy Gentry and her second husband Wiley Ray Sammons; two daughters: Patty Jeanette Gentry and Mary Lee Gentry; five sisters: Mary Currell, Constance Robinson, Hassie Oliver, Blanch Sammons, Pearl Osborne; three brothers: Oscar Riddle, Fred Riddle and Burl Riddle. . Aunt Mae is survived by a son, Frank Gentry and wife Jackie of Mountain City, TN; step daughter, Lorraine Curd of Mountain City, TN; sisters: Raydell Osborne of KY, Carrie Morley of Shady Valley, TN; granddaughters: Jodi Gentry Spatz and husband Bradley of Gainesville, FL and Jill Gentry of Orlando, FL; step granddaughter, Sharon Taylor; step great granddaughter, Susan Taylor; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Sue Shupe, Verlene Martin and Bud Osborne and many, many special friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Jim Hutchinson, Minister officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 9, 2011 at Phillippi Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Lester Morley, Lonnie Morley, Bill Gentry, Roger Fenner, Kermit Morley and Kenneth Morley.
