Eileen Ramsey

Eileen Milam Ramsey, age 94, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011 following a lengthy illness. She was born on December 12, 1917 to the late Roby Anderson Milam and Ocie May Milam. In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, W.V. Pete' Ramsey; sisters: Cleo Crosswhite, Thelma Mauk, Blanche Hicks and Dorothy Blue and a brother, Tom Milam. Eileen attended Dobyns-Bennett High School. She was co-owner with husband, W.V. Pete', of W.V. Ramsey Company. They owned and operated Variety stores (5 and 10 cents stores), Western Auto Stores, Radio Stations and service stations. Eileen was a member of First Christian Church and was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Eileen was a member of Johnson County Music Club. She loved to cook. She was known for her beautifully decorated cakes for weddings, birthdays, and special occasions. Eileen and her husband, Pete, loved to travel, loved to fish and loved to share their home and their lives with others. They loved their children, their grandchildren, and their great and great great-grandchildren. Mamaw' Eileen' will truly be missed. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Martha Eileen (Ramsey) and Larry Dabney of Louisville, KY; sons and daughters-in-law: Roger C. and Helen Ramsey of Gray, TN and Fred and Judy Ramsey of Mountain City, TN; grandchildren: Kelley Mitchell, Marsu Horton, Rick Ramsey, Chelley Henson, Tim Dabney, Beth Ann Graybeal and Daniel Dabney; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; special friend, Trula Muse and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at First Christian Church with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted by Eileen's grandchildren. Graveside Service and Interment will follow from the Mountain View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Rick Ramsey, Tim Dabney, Scott Horton, Ronnie Henson, Brad Mitchell, Lucas Henson and Nick Blackwell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the W.V. Ramsey Scholarship Fund for Ministerial Students, Milligan College, PO Box 500, Milligan College, TN 37682. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at National Healthcare and Caris Healthcare for their loving care and support.
