Mary L. May

Mary Lou May, age 87, of 370 Fred May Road, Trade, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Mountain City Care and Rehab Center. She was born on January 3, 1925 to Frank and Rosa Wallace Rash of Trade. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ottis Fred May, who passed away in 2002; one sister, Pearl Nye and four brothers: Glenn Rash, Fred Rash, Dale Rash and Dean Rash. Mary retired from Mountain City Glove Plant in 1987 after 25 years of service. She was a member of Mountain City Church of Christ. Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Roseletta and Gary Reece of Trade, TN; three grandsons, Brian Reece, Greg Reece and Brad Reece, all of Trade, TN; two great grandsons: Tyler Townsend of Zionville, NC and Colton Reece of Valle Crucis, NC; one great granddaughter, Sophie Reece of Zionville, NC; one sister, Betty Bumgardner of Trade, TN and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, January 16, 2012 from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. at Mountain City Funeral Home with the service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Ministers Randy Covalt and Buddy Morefield to officiate. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Brian Reece, Greg Reece and Brad Reece; great-grandsons: Tyler Townsend and Colton Reece, and Darrell Reece and Bobby Reece. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Reece, Dr. Jim Shine, Dr. John Whitlock, Daniel Jones, Jim Hutchinson and Danny Cullop. Graveside Service and Entombment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from the Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Gary and Roseletta Reece, 2211 Bulldog Road, Trade, TN 37691. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send memorial contributions to the charity of their choice.
