Bobby Lyn Smith, age 45, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born on March 28, 1966 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late John Gale Potter Sr. and Patricia Ann Strong Potter. Bobby loved to mechanic, fish, camp, to "tinker" with odd jobs, and most of all loved and wanted his family with him at all times. He was a member of Rainbow Baptist Church. He is survived by one sister, Samantha Ann Potter Stout, and special friend, Tommy Lipford; two brothers, John Gale Potter, Jr. and girlfriend, Darlene Gregg; Daniel Lee Strong and wife, Lorna; very special great niece, Emilyn Paige Stout, daughter of Cody Keith Stout, special friends: Barbara Lipford and Tommy Lipford, Tom Brown and Jimmy Norris, several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Minister Tommy Johnson to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will follow from the Norris Family Cemetery located in the Rainbow Community. Active pallbearers will be John Carroll, Daniel Harper, Brian Roberts, Curtis Harget, Mike Grayson, Ricky Dean Jr., and Burley McComas. Honorary Pallbearers are Tommy Lipford, John G. Potter Jr. Daniel Strong and Frank Hodges. Bobby will be greatly missed by his family and friends. At other times, the family will receive friends at 938 Crossroads Drive, Mountain City, TN 37683.
