Raymond Earl Warren, age 92, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to Heaven on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Mountain City Care Center. He was born on May 12, 1919 to the late William Luther Warren and Clara Belle Crowder Warren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a step-mother, Ella Mock Warren; one son William Earl (Bill) Warren, who passed away in 1970; sister, Mildred Treadway; brothers: Edgar Warren and Glenn Warren and one grandson, William Earl Butch' Warren Jr.. Raymond loved raising a garden and spending time with his family. He was a true family man and will be greatly missed. Raymond retired from the Johnson County Highway Department following 35 years of service. He attended the Rainbow Baptist Church. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Dave Gwinn of Mountain City, TN; one son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Leona Warren of Mountain City, TN; sister Wilma Tester of Mountain City, TN; brothers Ernest Warren and wife Ruth and Claude Warren and wife Faye of Mountain City, TN; grandchildren: Carroll Chappell and wife Teresa, Keith Gwinn, Nathan Warren and wife Tammy, Amber Warren, Norman Warren and wife Sandy, Steve Warren, Lisa Snyder and husband Duke and Elizabeth King; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, cousins, and many special friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Shannon Courtner, Ray Vaught and Steven Spencer to officiate. Music will be provided by the Fletcher Family. Pallbearers will be Chad Sluder, Craig Sluder, Melvin Humphrey, Bob Eggers, Mike Shupe and James Brewer. Honorary pallbearers will be Jody Bumgardner, Daniel Jones, Doug Osborne, Jim Furches and Ronnie Wilson. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 from the Rainbow Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Mountain City Care Center and Caris Health Care for all of their kindness and loving care.
