Glenda Sue Good, age 65, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 9, 2012 following an extended illness. She was born on September 11, 1946 to the late Clyde and Frances Slemp. In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Slemp. Glenda loved helping others and had a passion for her career as a nurse. She was a dedicated member of Shady Valley Baptist Church and the Shady Valley Baptist WMU. Glenda is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Glenn Good; two sons and daughters-in-law: Ricky and Joyce Good of Elizabethton, TN and Travis and Gina Good, also of Elizabethton, TN; two grandsons: Hunter and Chris Good; siblings: Mary Slemp, Larry Slemp and Linda Gentry and husband Burnice, all of Mountain City, TN; special friends: Shelby Potter, Irene Shoun, Betty Rhudy, Ethel Blevins and Nancy Ward and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastors Richard Stout, Kreg Smith and Harry Cunningham to officiate. Prayer will be given by James Forrester. Music and song will be provided by First Christian Church of Hampton, TN. Pianist will be Ed Hailey. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Park. Pastor Kreg Smith will officiate. Prayer will be given by Jerry Forrester. Music and song will be provided by Paul Gershwin and Sybil Forrester. Pallbearers will be Mike Long, Tom Kyte, Larry Slemp, Richard Good, Doug Yarber and Gary McQueen. Honorary Pallbearers are: Dr. John Whitlock, Wally Cable, Lillard Blevins, Ed Hailey, John Grindstaff, Burnice Gentry, N.J. Walker, Raymond Tolliver, Emory Blevins, Gary Odom, Denver Forrester, Dennis Rhudy, Terry Potter, Steve Gouge and the Johnson County Rescue Squad. For those who wish, memorials may be made in Glenda Sue's memory to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New Your, NY 10016 or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 308 Hwy 133, Shady Valley, TN 37688 or at the home of Glenda's sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Burnice Gentry, 911 Dillon Road, Mountain City, TN 37683.
