Jack McKinney, age 75, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 9, 2012 at the Mountain City Care Center. He was born on March 29, 1936 to the late Rama and Stella McCourry McKinney. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a brother, James McKinney and brother-in-law, Frank Murphy. Jack was a founding member and former pastor of West Grove Baptist Church. He had the privilege of pastoring at several other Baptist Churches during his life and his last church was Bible Baptist Church. Jack was a member of Central Baptist Church. Jack loved working with wood and building things. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Garland McKinney; daughters and sons-in-law: Tammy and Ray Scott of Morganton, NC and Amber and Julian Crews of Mountain City, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Pam McKinney of McConnells, SC; sisters and brother-in-law: Mary and Wes Dale of Burnsville, NC, Helen Murphy; brothers and sisters-in-law: Wayne and Phyllis McKinney of Green Mountain, NC, Royce and Violet McKinney of Peach Bottom, PA, Eugene and Gladys McKinney of Green Mountain, NC, Wesley and Pauline McKinney of Green Mountain, NC and Sam and Donna McKinney of Meadowview, VA; sister-in-law, Lois McKinney; grandchildren: Beth, Jessica, Sydney and Julia; great grandchild, Riley; several nieces and nephews and many, many special friends. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Central Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastors Rick Thomason and Stephen Spencer to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the Central Baptist Church Choir. Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Shady Valley Memorial Gardens.
