Earl Charles Bumgardner

Earl Charles Bumgardner, age 81, of Trade, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at his residence. Earl was born in Watauga County, NC on May 27, 1930 to the late Frank B. and Rosie Thomas Bumgardner. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Earleen Phipps Bumgardner, seven sisters: Madge, Margie, Pearl, Ruth, Ella, Georgia and Bertha and a brother, Ed Bumgardner. Earl enjoyed working, weedeating, mowing, farming and fishing. Earl was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church. Earl is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Bumgardner of Trade, TN; granddaughter that Earl raised as a daughter, Bobbie Bumgardner Dickens; sons and daughters-in-law: Gary Bumgardner, Mountain City, TN; Rick and Linda Bumgardner, Topsail Island, NC; David and Debbie Bumgardner and Joseph "Jody" and Tess Bumgardner of Trade, TN; sisters; Geneva Wilson, Bristol, TN; and Wilma Richardson, San Antonio, TX; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and Earl's special grand-dog, Buddy. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church on Friday, March 16, 2012 with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Tony Potter, Bro. Derick Wilson and Bro. Rex Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Trade United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Bumgardner, Jordan Bumgardner, Jared Bumgardner, Dakota Bumgardner, Timmy Bumgardner, Daniel Dickens, Josh Bumgardner and Mitchell Reece. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Wallace, Lee Dickens, Robert Wilson, Freddy Wilson, Dave Guinn, Walter Wilson, Jack Arnold and Michael Trivette.
